Your School's Mission and Motto

The Mission of "Your School" is to teach all children how to read, write, listen, speak,
organize information, study and do math to mastery - all this while having some fun.

Our motto: Do unto others...

I’d like to offer that any school that would like to adopt the above statement as its mission is free to do so - quite free from the common progressive and meaningless clap about “Learning cultures and core values that prepare all students for college, work, citizenship and lifelong learning.” Or pap about "inspiring children to realize their unique potential."

Your school’s mission will go beyond "inspiring" children to actually "teaching" them their basic skills to mastery, while experiencing the joy of academic success and achievement - two years above grade level.

And, teach these skills and behaviors in a coordinated and humane way. It’s not so hard, but requires a real curriculum and methodology that focuses on the well-being of children rather than empty slogans that lead me to wonder, “What in the world are these people talking about? Learning cultures? Inspiring children? Lifelong learners?

I can think of no better motto for my school than Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Why is this such a great motto? Well, because it's built around the whole concept of "Doing," rather than what has become so popular in our culture, "Complaining." After all, Doing for others, not passivity, is the cornerstone of achievement and happiness.

To accomplish such a mission, and adopt such a motto, isn't that difficult, but please show me a school that has dumped the same-old same-old and adopted something even close.

Teach all children how to read, write, listen, speak, organize information, study
and do math to mastery - all this while having some fun.

Do unto others...

Thank you.
